Mordheim Roster Builder Tool

I’m sure many of you have noticed already but I added a new page to our site, the Mordheim Roster Builder. The Roster Builder is a tool that lets you create and modify warbands directly through the website, with it auto-calculating things like rating, gold, etc. It IS a work in progress, so it’s not 100% functional yet. There should be enough there to create a starting warband for most of the official warbands and a few of the unofficial ones as well.

To use the Roster Builder, simply select the warband you want to use from the dropdown list. It will fill in all the Hero and Henchman dropdown boxes and you may then fill in your army as you wish, including adding equipment and special things like mutations. It will auto-calculate your warband rating and your gold. It will also prevent you from making illegal changes, such as adding too many of a hero or henchman, or spending too much gold.

If you would rather freely edit without worrying about gold costs you can simply click the “Free Edit” button under the gold crowns. This will stop calculating your gold so you can add/remove without the need to worry about costs. It will still restrict you from adding too many of a certain type of hero or henchman, and enforce any other specific rules.

Again, this is a work in progress so expect to see changes. Currently you can not edit experience, add skills, or other non-starting warband related things, but expect that to change soon. The main things I am working on right now are ways to export your warband (including a printer friendly version) as well as the ability to use it for more than starting warbands (ie adding injuries, skills, etc). If you have any questions, suggestions, or bugs to report please contact us.

And don’t forget to keep an eye out for the updates!

    Great idea.

Is there a way to get it to print when you are done. Also It has some problems if opened with google chrome.

I am very new to Mordheim but love it. Great to see you keeping it alive here.

    ASEO out

I’m working on the print ability right now. I’ll have that ready soon, so check back!

What’s the issue with Google Chrome? I’ve only tested on Firefox and IE so far and I know those both work.

Wait!? I have been using this thing for about a year now and GW made you guys take it down? what gives man!!!

  4. Svenn says:

Yeah, sorry. I just received the email yesterday asking me to take down the files and the roster builder. 🙁

  5. cameron says:

Can I still get a copy?

  6. Svenn says:

A copy of what? If you want your created Rosters you should still be able to grab an XML copy from your personal user site.

If you want a copy of the Roster Builder… I cannot hand that out. Sorry. 🙁

Pretty crappy that they chase down people over a product that they don’t maintain. Having sites like this at least encourages people to buy models and perhaps offer a gateway to their for more current games.

  8. CS says:

I’m not sure they’ve got a legal right to make that request. Game rules are not protected by copyright, and the roster builder itself is pretty inoffensive. Further reading on this thread:

What I find really interesting, is that they now give it away on their site. One can download the rules and many other resources. I’m entering your conversation 2 years latter, so maybe you could ask them, to allow you reopen the Mordheim roster builder. They state it is copyrighted, but they are giving away the stats. So what is their argument. I’m not lawyer so I would attempt to suggest you resubmit your program without speacking with them.

I purchased the rules when they came out and liked the game. The group burned out and we move on to other games. My son has gotten me back in to the game. The same thing that drew to them are still there. The Empire is burning is all new to me. I will enjoy reading through it. Yes I picked up on the GW website.

Well I will check back to see what the results are.
